Peek-a-boo String Easter Egg
By Wintermoon
This tutorial was written using Paintshop Pro7, but can easily be adapted to Version 6

What you will need for this tutorial:
Paintshop Pro 7. If you don't have it you can get a trial version
Here
My Peek-a-boo string egg tube
My Decorations Tube including Jasc's Plastic Grass

You can also get Free Easter Tube from Jasc Here

For this tutorial we will be using my already made StringEgg. At the end of the tutorial I will explain how to make it. You might want to make something similiar but a different shape

**Note: I'ts important that you name your layers. We'll be working with them when it comes to decorating inside of your egg

Open a New Image, 400x400, transparent, 16.7 (24 bit) Color
Add a New Layer, name it eggfront
Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, and choose stringegg, Size 75
Click it into your New transparent image

The stringegg is a neutral color. You can leave it, or change the color by doing one of the following:
1.  Go to Color/Colorize and play with the hue and saturation until desired color

2.  Using your Magic Wand, Click on the string of the egg so the ants march
     Go to Selections/Modify/Contract by 1
Floodfill with a solid color or a gradient
Deselect

With your eggfront layer activated.
Use your Selection Tool, in tool options select Elipse, feather 0, antialias checked.
Go to approximately the middle of your egg dragging downwards and sideways until your satisfied with the shape and size
.
Hit Delete
DO NOT DESELECT

With the ants still marching, we're going to make a frame around the hole.
Use the color of your egg (if you don't have that color set as your foreground, use your eyedropper just below your magic want) and Click it on a string, and your color should appear.
Go to Selections/Modify/Expand by 3
Floodfill your hole with your color
Go to Selections/Modify/Contract by 5
Hit Delete
DO NOT DESELECT

With your eggfront layer activated, and the ants marching
Add a New Layer, name it Cutout
Go to Effects/3Deffects/Cutout and use these settings:
Vertical 14
Horizontal 16
Shadow Color Black
Opacity 35
Blur 51
Fill interior with color Unchecked
Deselect

**Note: Turn off your cutout layer, by clicking on the
eyeglasses. We'll be turning it back on at the last step of the tutorial**
(the reason for this is to be able to move things around without the cutout going with them)

With your Cutout Layer activated
Add a New Layer, name it eggback
Drag your eggback layer down below eggfront
Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, choose stringegg Size75
Use your Mover Tool, positioning your eggback even with your eggfront.
(if you turn your cutout layer back on for a moment this is what your
string egg will look like, minus the mover tool lol)

***Make sure your Cutout Layer is turned off again by clicking on
     the eyeglasses.

DECORATING YOUR EGG :)

Add a New Layer, name it grass
Drag it down below your eggfront layer.
Click on the eggfront layer to activate it
Using your Magic Wand, Click on outside of your egg
Go to Selections/Invert, only your egg should have marching ants around it.
Click back onto your Grass Layer (the marching ants should still be marching, and when you add your grass it won't get outside of the egg.)
Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, choose Plastic Grass, Size 30
Go to your egg, and just clicking away until you have the desired amount you want.
If you don't like the grass green, Go to Colors/Colorize and play with hue and saturation ( I used
Hue 217, Saturation 98)
Deselect

Keeping your Grass Layer Activated
Add a New Layer, name it bunnyegg
Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, Choose bunnyegg Size 70
Click into your egg, using the Mover tool to postion it where you want

Activate your Grass Layer
Add a New Layer, name it flowers1
Using your picture tube tool, go to tool options, Choose easterlillies Size 85
Use your Mover tool to position the flowers as you like.
You can keep the flowers the color they are or Go to Colors/Colorization and play with the hue and saturation (I picked Hue 217, Saturation 33).

Activate your Grass Layer
Add a New Layer, name it flowers
Repeat the same steps above for flowers1

Your Layers should be in this order ---------------->

**Turn your Cutout Layer Back ON, by clicking on the eyeglasses

Your Peek-a-boo String Egg is finished :) If you make a background, a very light pastel color works the best.
